Kodah Bear

I met Mandy and Slate out at mom's house yesterday to snap a few pics of Slate. I took the dogs with me and let them run around (they are always good at staying close by). Well, we worked and worked to get a few pictures, but Slate was having a little difficulty walking on the uneven ground, keeping his shoes on, keeping things OUT of his mouth, and his mom was having difficulty keeping the mosquitoes off her legs. Sooo, we finally called it quits. I called the dogs, but Kodah was no where to be found. That is so unlike her, she NEVER strays far from me. After a few minutes and still no sign, I began to panic - only because she weighs three pounds and I had noticed a huge bird (hawk) flying over several times while we were taking pics. Fred took off towards Eastern, and I ran up to Memorial and Mandy stayed close to the house looking for her. After about thirty minutes, still no Kodah. And then Mandy spotted her just frozen in some tall grass and not moving - she called Fred and he came and scooped her up. Nothing was wrong, but she was shaking like a little vibrator. In the meantime, Max shows up and then Isaac shows up to help look for her (after Mandy had called them and told them she was gone!)
She's okay now - oh how we love that little dog!! :)

Rach, What a scary story. Glad it had a good ending. We stopped by to see Mom yesterday and Freddie told us about the hawk incident. I've never been very good at having a pet, but you are my example of how good and how fun it could be. MB

It was scary - I think more than anything was the fact it was getting dark and I knew she would not survive thru the night. I was already thinking in my head that I could handle finding her dead vs having to give up looking. I don't like getting so attached, but I do :)

PS - is that really the time you posted 5:06 AM?????!!!!!! :0
